Hallie visits a hypnotist to help with her studies at the suggestion of a friend. Though a bit skeptical, she falls under hypnosis after fixating on his swinging watch. When she’s brought out of trance, she doesn’t believe that she was hypnotized and tries to leave thinking she is wasting her time. As she reaches the door, the hypnotist uses his now established control over Hallie and forces her to sit down and deepen her trance. She can no longer fight the urge to obey her master and now wears a smile on her face while entranced. She happily carries out the rest of her instructions as she displays her total obedience towards her master.
